1969

Engineered Systems Incorporated (ESI) was founded by Mr. Larry LaPlue, PE, laying the foundation for decades of innovation and reliability.

1996

Don Wilson, a long-time team member, purchases ESI, ushering in a new era of leadership and growth.

1999

ESI establishes a Lexington, SC office, reinforcing our commitment to long-term expansion and customer support.

2000

Headquarters relocated to Duncan, SC, providing a larger fabrication shop for crane manufacturing and a warehouse to expand inventory.

2004

Opened our Hoschton office, marking our first expansion into Georgia.

2007

ESI acquires Sterling Sales and Service in North Carolina, solidifying our presence across the Southeast.

2013

With the acquisition of Atlanta Cranes, we expand our reach across Georgia and strengthen our market position.

2021

Leadership transitions as Paul Wilson becomes President, continuing the vision of service and excellence.

2024

With three new facilities and four advanced fabrication lines, ESI is now one of the nation’s leading crane and hoist providers.
